What Is FITT
The Furniture Industry Testing Technology (FITT) laboratory was created to ensure we deliver a controlled impartial approach to product quality monitoring and to new product development, as we endeavour to place only safe and fit-for-purpose products on the market.
Mobus has always had a strong belief in quality and ensuring their fabrics are tested to the highest standards. Established in 2014 FITT took over all Mobus testing, working independently FITT work to the highest standards taking a strong non-biased approach to testing results. Using the latest testing equipment and with an experienced team, FITT has the flexibility to test beyond upholstery guidelines to enable a wider range of tests when required.

Our conditioned laboratory is designed and fully equipped for physical testing:

Colour Fastness
Our wet laboratory is designed and fully equipped for testing:
– Colour fastness to water
– Colour fastness to light
– Colour fastness to wet & dry rubbing (Performed in the conditioned laboratory)
Grading of colour change and staining takes place in our dedicated grading room.

Flammability Testing
The flammability laboratory provides the perfect environment for the ‘match test’ according to:
– BS EN 5852-1:1979 fire tests for furniture – methods of test for the ignitibility by smokers’ material of upholstered composites for seating
– The furniture and furnishings (fire) (safety) regulations 1988, amended 1989, 1993 & 2010, schedule 5 – part 1

FLAMMABILITY TESTING
Fabrics are soaked and dried in the wet laboratory then conditioned before testing, in accordance with:
– BS 5651:1978 cleansing and wetting procedures for use in the assessment of the effect … on the flammability of textile fabrics and fabric assemblies - clause 4 as amended by
